A 10-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN SIGNED PALMER, no visible serial number, circa 1815, with probably shortened 27 3/4in. barrel, short sighting rib at breech (traces of white metal inlay), plain lock with fully rainproof pan (top-jaw crude replacement), walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist and with raised cheek-piece, iron furniture and mahogany ramrod, heavily corroded and pitted
